My love for fitness started at a young age - growing up playing softball and basketball. I began my journey in the gym in middle school, when I was introduced to powerlifting. I competed in my first powerlifting meet in 8th grade, and was hooked from there on. In college, I played softball and continued competing in powerlifting meets, competing at USAPL Raw Nationals in 2019. I also joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard while in college, and found that running and more functional fitness needed to become a part of my routine. When COVID hit in early 2020, I found myself with no powerlifting meets to train for, and quickly lost interest in the training style. After 10 years, I decided to give CrossFit a try, with the hopes that it would be exciting and help me perform better for my Army demands. Well, it did the trick and 3 years later, I'm a 2-time Quarterfinals athlete, CF-OL1 Coach, and a hopeful Tactical Games competitor. Most days, you'll find my pup Bravo with me here at Blue River. We're an inseparable pair, and he keeps me running!
Outside of the gym, I work as a firefighter/EMT. I also previously studied pharmacy and was a doctoral candidate at Concordia University Wisconsin. I've seen a lot of what happens to people when they don't prioritize their health and fitness, and I'm really driven to help people make that change in their lives before it's too late. I coach people 1-on-1 on their nutrition and fitness outside of coaching classes here at Blue River, and am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help people in this way!
